just a quick question i see that guys have been putting 225 50 r16 on there stock z24 rims, would 225 55 r16's fit? my car is lowered 1.75 on goldline springs. i want to make sure before i go buy these tires. they might be pretty fat on the rim i think.
thanks
Nick

Yes, the 225/55 will fit, but using a common internet tire calculator shows it's nearly an inch larger in diameter than the 225/50. Why would you use it when the 225/50 is almost the same diameter as the factory 205/55/16 on those wheels? (Both of these sizes are a lot of tire for a 6" rim, but they're still within the minimum recommendation.)

thanks, i went to see the tires and it looked like they will not fit in the wheel well, cause of how low my car is, they looked worn out too so ill keep searching.

225 55 16 will fit. I had a set on my car when I bought it. But full lock they rub. 225 50 16 is the proper size, and no issues as of yet. I was lowered 2 inches, and no troubles.

Use a 225/50-16 Exact same height as OEM just wider.

Tire calculators I've used on the web show the diameter difference between the 205/55/16 (stock on third-gen Z24 coupes) is 0.45 percent smaller in diameter than the 195/65/15 (stock on third-gen LS models with alloy wheels and convertibles) while the 225/50/16 is 0.53 percent smaller than the same tire. Pretty negligible difference with less than 1 percent speedo difference with either tire.

Lousy picture, but the tire on the left is a 195/65/15 and the one on the right is a 225/50/16. Both are mounted on 6" alloy wheels. My car is lowered and I have no clearance problems either.
