205/40/17 compared to 205/45/17..how much difference in sizes is this...also what are your recommendations/ opinions on the 2 sizes...i live in northeast ohio so the roads are crappy here....also im lowered with the eibach pro kit...thanks
If you want 17's then you would want 215/45/17 or 225/45/17. the sizes you listed will have a smaller diameter than the stock tire and your speedo will be off. The sizes i listed have about a 2" sidewall, as for your question try

lol, in that case the 205/45/17's would be your best bet. Have you ever thought about getting 205/50/17?

I've had 215/45/17 and right now I have 205/40/17 and the 205/40s ride way better than the first set and my roads here are horrible, my speedo is off 3 mph but that doesnt bother me...but I wanted a smaller tire for a completely different reason than you.
