Widest tire for 18in rim
Tuesday, November 11, 2008 3:51 PM
I am about to buy some new tires. I want to know what some of you guys are running in terms of tires. I have 225-40-18 and I want to put a wider tire on there. Anyone have any input??? Thanks!

I think 225 is the widest tire you can put on any rim on our cars unless you get a different offset. But then it will poke out.

potenza pole position, 7-800 bucks but they don't hydroplane at all, stiff for curves, 70 in a 40 could push them more but dont want to roll it, traction is just awesome, i like em

I am running 235-40-18 on 18x7.5, 40mm offset I believe. I am dropped on roadmagnet springs which is a 2.2" drop. I had to roll the lip in on my fenders some from going over hard bumps, otherwise no rubbing.

the higher tire is probably whats making it clear the inner fender. i wouldnt go any wider than 225 myself. i got 215/45/17 on mine right now rides bad enough already so im movin to 205/50/17 and well see if ti gets better...
