Snow Tires... when to buy?

I'm gonna buy a set of snow tires for my stock wheels...

Will tires be cheapest now because its the off season so to speak or will they go on sale at the start of winter because that's when they get popular?

Just search tirerack.com, that is where i found the best prices on snow tires when i bought mine. Not really sure if there is a off season for cheaper prices but if there was this would be the end of it.

I have not really seen tires fluctuate at all with seasons. Especially if you deal with someone like TireRack or Discount Tire Direct. They do such large volume that they just have their prices year round.

I think I spent 250 or so for all 4 tires in late September. The price was at discount tires and I got the warranty that they offered. Free rotation, free balance, free alignment and free replacement if they even can't fix the flat and they fix flats for free.
