Polishing a Polished Lip
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 8:33 PM
I just noticed a couple of nicks and a little scrape on my brand new wheel. I was trying to figure out what I hit and how I curbed it, until I realized the marks were not on the outermost portion of the lip(where it sticks out the most) but they are right where the tire meets the rim. So now I'm just about positive the place where I got it mounted caused these but since it's been about a week, I really can't say anything.

This leads me to my question. What can I use to repolish my lip to get rid of or, at least, diminish the nicks? Most Konig Unknowns are listed with a machined face but I'm still not sure if the lip has a clear coat. I'd appreciate any help since this question has been asked a couple of times with either no replies or no straight answer.

go back to the shop and show them,
they are the experts with wheels and tires so they should do a good job,
if the wheels were new, they would not have any damage at all and if it is where it sounds like it is,
what else could it have been.
post some pics, but the shop should take care of it,

does it look like it could have rubbed up against anything?

cheers steve
