I am thinking about getting rims on my 01 cavalier and I found ssc performance style 28 17x7.5. I was wondering how these would look with 205/50/r17s (I live on gravel) should I go with different size tires or rims? and if anybody could try and find the offset for these thx.
go with 225/45r17 or a set of 16's with 205/55r16. the tires you picked are to small.
I was looking for a little higher sidewall since I live on gravel and pot holes a somewhat of a problem. On
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html they show that there not to small they are only off by .2mph with the 205/50/r17 but do u think that the 225/45/r17 would still be my best choice?
Yup.

Since I live in iowa how would the handling be like if I was in a grooved road and such if a narrower tire would have better handling?
If any one knows the actual tire width between a 205/50/r17 and a 225/45/r17.
trust me i have run 225's on dirt they are fine.
