Question about the 10 spoke LS rims. My 2003 cav came with the LS rims but there kind of a gun-metal finish with what I guess is a clearcoat finish. Yet almost all the pic's of these rims and the pic's in the 2003 Chevy Cav brosure show them as chromed. Did they come in both finishes ???
I like the chrome look on the white cav's and was thinking of having mine polished and re-clearcoated.

Yes, they were available chrome.

They will look good polished, but you can't clearcoat a polished metal that will be durable. Any coating needs a rough surface to bond to.

You would be better to have yours blasted and chromed. Might be cheaper to just find a used chrome set, though, and sell yours.

I never knew they could come with a gunmetal finish. I thought they were all chrome.....

Your probably right, it would be cheaper to search out a chrome set. Nothing wrong with mine, not even a scratch. Just curious as I haven't seen another set with the gun-metal finish.

They came in Chrome and in Brushed Aluminum. I kinda like the Brushed Aluminum ones better personally.

The chrome ones, although nice, are over-played.

The brushed aluminum ones... Well I don't see many of those rolling around, so they're a touch more desirable.

Yeah, they do look OK, and I've decided to keep em just the way they are. Money to switch them would be better spent, can buy a complete exhaust system for what I'd spend.
