I was thinkin of goin 18x8 up front and 19x9.5 in the rear.. probably use the SportMax 092 (deep lip meshies).. but I was told the rears would be too wide, and was gettin made fun of for doin staggered on FWD.. info and opinions much appreciated

even if he took out all the suspension? rear brakes? could he fit them then? lol jk
my 19x8's max it out as it is
yea my 18x8 are pretty close but i have'nt figured out my offset still
dude i love that front end..
my wheels are 35mm..
back when i was bagged i rolled my rear quarters so they wouldnt catch, and the tire/rim would touch the strut on the inside when it went all the way down, there is no way a 9.5 will fit, I wouldnt even be able to shoe horn that into my cts

yea.. i to had to roll my fenders.. when i had my car lowered almost to max, i would scrape the side of the tires.. the rear was ok though. but then again i never lowered it no more then 2"
the widest you can on a j without modifying (ie by cutting the axle or widebody) is 8.5
8.5 is even to wide with stock body my 19x8 sat almost level with the front fender if i were you wanting to do a semi staggerd fitment d0 a 8" front and a 8.5 rear the rear rims sit in farther but also screw around with the offsets it takes a lot of measurements to get a perfect fit.
true 8.5 is too wide but it does fit. it doesnt look right but it does fit.
so what would be a good width / offset combo that would fit without me breakin out a torch or sawzall? I dunno too much about these numbers.. I mean, I know what they are, but I dunno how to do the math to get a correct fitment

with my ground controls i have .. 18x8.. the tired size is 225/45/18.. the tires are to narrow for the tire, and there a bit stretched.. but im sure if my tires were a little wider i would have major issues..
right now, I'm runnin 18x7.5" Rota's w/ 215/35/ZR18s... the tires are shorter than most, and the wheel is skinnier than some of you guys... it looks good from a distance, but I know I can get a lil wider.. I just wanna know the right width and offset that would best close up the gaps and gimme some width under the car

my car used to sit like that before I changed the suspension (if you go to the southeast forums, go to Team CFJ #2, page 39.. the dark purple was the before) and I never had issues with rubbing, and I had the 225s then...
ok, so it looks like 9.5s for me
has anyone ever done it tho, even if they had to hack up the quarter panels?

I'm going to try to stuff a 17X9 under my 05 Sunfire, with a 245/40r17 wraped around it. Should be fun, the rims alone cost 650 each.

yea dude 9" aint gonna fit.. my rims are *"wide and the tip of the lip is even with my fenders, if you look at the picture with both the teal cavalier and the silver one you will see how the 8"s actually ARE even and the stockers sit inside the wells .. anything above 8 8.5 being the max would not fit. people are telling you they wont but your still tryin to waste money and time on them ?
i posted this before and people keep sayin that a 9 inch wide wheel wont fit. well im not sure on a 18 inch but i have 17x9 in my cavalier rear and 17x8 in front. i believe the offset of both are 31mm. i use a one inch spacer and no rubbing. i know its staggered but that the only way i could buy them since they where used. but now im selling them and going with 16 work meisters that i have.

look how stretched those tires are!
that doesnt "fit" in my eyes.... thats a bandaid
but whatever what do i know, i dont have a 8 inch wide wheel on my car, i cant go out and realize that i have less than a finger on each side for my wheel...
I was going to take pictures to show you guys, trying to help....
but if you want to be retarded I realize you are going to do it no matter what..

honestly it all depends on your offset. it does fit i have 235 tires on it and they are 17x9 on the rear and i have a one inch spacer on them. i had no problems. i wanted to upgrade to 245 tires but i decided to stay with 16 inch wheels. im positive a 9.5 inch wide wheel will work if you get the correct offset. but there are not many manufactures out there that will make a custom offset. so you pretty much have to stick what you got. though the front is a different issue my wheel stuck out just a tad with the 8 inch wheel in the front but then i got the toyota fenders and now they tuck right in.
lol 9" on stock Im honestly debating on if 9.5 will fit with my strut clearence and fender clearence and I have added 3" to my car lol offsets can be used for certain things but off factory you only have a bit to go inside and a bit to go outside bfore you rub something. Measure your actual stock wheel it isnt as wide as it says it is my 8.5" are actually 9" wide
