Wheel/Tire Combo Question
Monday, July 09, 2007 11:13 PM
Ive been looking for some wheels that i like and yet won't be too hard on my wallet and i came across the FLIK Lex wheels from edgeracing, com that come with 205/40/17 tires. do you think ill be able to use 'em on my car w/o rubbing if i low it a tad bit? and what do you expect my speedo to be off by since my car came stock on 15" donuts?

thanks!

I believe 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 are the size tires that keep the speedo working closest to its calibration. The 40 series would be a bit too short, and cause your speedo to read high. Pay attention to backspacing, and they won't rub when you drop the car.

At Edge Racing you can specify what size tire you want though

205/40/17 is a civic tire size. its not correct for our cars. 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 is what you should get as mentioned.

Got my rims/rubber from Edge Racing. Pretty good customer service too, the center caps weren't included but after exchanging emails with a rep I found out they are 50 for a set, and he told me to make a note in the notes box on the order page and add 50 bucks to the total. Got my rims on my 32nd birthday (a Thursday), and the caps the following Monday. Got one heck of a deal too, since Enkei was discontinuing the exact rims I wanted, got something like 40% off the price of them. BTW, they come mounted, balanced with stick-on weights, white packing foam (that you'd use on china dishes) on each side of the rim, and a big square of thick cardboard on each side, all taped and plastic-banded to the thing, with the lugnuts, lug-covers (or caps, depends on rim) in a heavily padded envelope inside one rim. The lugnuts that come with them are junk, toss 'em and get some Gorilla tuner-nuts from Summit Racing or someplace like that.
