so quick story, i had a tricked out 96 stratus and had my 18" rims on it. car went to @!#$ and dad donated it to school of blind (dont ask lol) told me to take everything out of it that i wanted. at the time, i had my winter tires on. now that i am planning on putting my 18's on my cav i realized i left the lug nuts for the rims on the stratus.....how can i go about ordering those lug nuts. they were special lug nuts that came with a special socket for them....ideas?
any local autozone or peep boys or advanced auto sells them.
Sounds like what you're after is a set of "tuner lugs", which are usually pretty easy to get ahold of. They typically come in one of two styles: "Spline" walled lugs that have a special socket to fit over them, or those with a special hex key or Torx-like tool that fits into their face like a screwdriver. I prefer the former, which I originally got on eBay. Look for 12MM x 1.5 sizing.

also be aware that the spline drive type lugs are made from a softer metal which overtime will corade and rust from the harder metal using the spine drive key to take them off. I just changed my lugs today and just got them from advanced auto parts they where 30 for a set and also had wheel locks for all four rims. They are 12mm X 1.5 and i cant remember the length but they are around 50mm i believe. I just got the hex type lugs as they are much easier to go on and off and you dont have to worry about having a special spline drive key you just need either a 13/16 or 3/4 socket hope that helps
oh and i forgot to add i the reason i replaced them is because i had two i couldnt get off and had to drill out the rust on the lugs (only had them for about a year) where so bad the spline drive key wouldnt go on the lug. so i had to use a hammer and beat it on and then put the spline drive key in a vice to get the lug back out not fun so save yourself the trouble and get a regular size socket instead of some one off key
spline drives will not go bad or rust if you buy quality ones (gorilla or mcgard). i personally bought the gorilla ones, pn 21133HT. The internal hex key type ones are probably the worst type you can buy because they leave the lug open and can create lots of rust, and also offer the least amount of torque ability. most aftermarket rims will require tuner style lugs, and not the normal outside hex style. 12x1.5 is what you need.

McGard FTW! Pricey, but they have never given me issues and only the locking lug makes contact to where it will scratch the wheel finish inside the lug holes. The other 4 being spline drive rotate on a washer thing and doesn't scratch the inners of the rim...
.... if that makes sence.
it also depends on the off set and the type of rim as they are all different and no same goes with hex shaped lugs with the quality wise
hex shaped lugs are garbage. buy a quality set of lugs like mention and you'll never go back. i had the mcgard spline drive lugs and loved them. never had a problem getting any lugs off
I had one of the AutoZone tuner lug sets and they loosened themselves over the course of like 36 hours...bad enough the car started shaking...took em off, put the stock lugs back on and took the tuner lugs back...
