I got the Tein ss coil-overs on my cavy right now and it is ungoddly close up front. like litterally i have to force 2 nickels inbetween the tire and the coil-over springs. One is this normal to have with my stock LS Sport tires?
Also if im not mistaken, the LS Sport rims are 16x6 or 16x6.5 correct?
What is every one else running for aftermarket rims with the coil-overs?
I really love these rims but they are 17 x 7" or 18 x 8" and have an offset of +42mm. Is there anyway that anyone with the Tein coil-overs can tell me if they will work or not?
With my AGX's and prokit, thats about how much clearance i have with my 18x8 rims. Its very very close but it doesn't rub at all.
I had a similar problem with my tein's. I'm running a 18 x 7.5 with a 42mm offset and was too close for comfort. I'm using a a thin spacer now for a little more room in there.
i wonder if i would be able to find a 17 x 8 or 17 x 7 / 7.5 with a 35mm offset would help bring it out more.
Thanks for the help guys, i was going to not be happy if i was the only one who spent 1300 bucks on coil-overs and cant get rims.
you can use aftermarket rims as long as you use the correct offset.
its not gonna get any closer so you should be fine just calculate the offsets, you can use your stock wheel measurements as a starting point. If you go to a wheel shop they should be able to help you out.

I run a 17x7.5 wheel with a +35mm offset. It's close, but livable. Ran for over a year now without a hitch.

A more accurate observation has never been typed. These should be the starting points before any serious performance modification. What's the point of making a serious performer if you can't control it's power?
Get a Wilwood big brake kit for the front
. That changes the offset enough to not need a spacer up front with aftermarket whels.
