is there anything that will help get the break dust off my rims besides the normal wheel cleaner. they arent working. wasnt sure if there is any special stuff out there.
i go and use those pressure wash machines at the do it yourself car wash, and then i use good ole fashioned elbow grease. Sucks, but in the end, it works the best
that wont chip the powder coat? seems like it would

will destroy clearcoat on rims, and can etch uncoated aluminum. Use at your own risk.
I would have to go with the elbow grease, i have used one of those powerballs that fits on a drill and it seems to work well... but the best way to keep them clean is to buy the good brake pads (less dust) and wipe them down once a week.
get ceramic pads they give off a little less brake dust and also if you wash them every week, it makes it easier to come off. the longer you wait the harder it is to get off. i dont like using any kind of chemicals on my wheels. i do it the old fashion way, warm water and a cloth

Pressure washing them wont chip the powder coating. Go to one of those ones that you put quarters in to wash cars. Those dont put out enough PSI to chip paint of any sorts. I use those on my Z24 rims (they are painted from factory) i havent had any paint peel of yet.
i just soak my wheels with armor all wheel cleaner, let it sit, re-apply and then wash it off
when i dry the car, i also dry the wheels with a separate rag (usually terry) and they are nice and clean... works for my HUBCAPS and STEELIES
haha
i also use it on my parents cars when i wash them...
works well on everything ive tried, including the 04 colorado rims which are a PITA to clean
im not talking about in general, but how to get brake dust and stuff off that wont come off with simple armorall cleaning. thankx peoples
If someone ever invents a product that actually breaks down the dirt/dust on wheels... that would be wonderful.

Words that you can't use in modding: Finished, Perfect, Cheap.
You can get brake dust shields. Their basically just plastic circles that go behind your rims and in front of your brakes and then you have NO brake dust. Only downside is your wheels will kind of look like hubcaps and you won't be able to see your brakes (which, with stock brakes is a plus)
Try Simple Green. Spray it on, let it soak for 5-10 minutes, hose off. Repeat if needed. Wax wheel (helps removing brake dust later ALOT easier).
And Armor All isn't a cleaner btw, its a protectant made for plastic and sometimes used on rubber.
