My girlfriends father is offering me a complete set of rims and tires for $80, winter tires.. 80% tread..
I need to know if the 215/70/15 will fit with out rubbing before I drive 2 hours to pick them up and be a waste of time...
currently the car has 195/65/15 stocks.
I have the exact sizes and all and I know the differences between the two, I am just worried they are going to rub against the spring plate on the front struts....
I know the rims will not match up due to differnt bolt patterns, but I just need to know if the rubber will fit??
Any help would be appreciated a.s.a.p... thank you
Sorry guys. I ment to put that its a 96 Grand Am, but I dont think that will make a difference.
yep, they will rub the strut. biggest tire u can fit is a 205/70 on a 15 and they still rub. u need to think 70% of 215mm is ur height for the sidewall. stock size should be 195/65. i have 205/65 on mine and they fill out the well nice.
i think they will fit. i know that i have put a 215/70 on an am before. but it might have been on the back. so dont fully trust my word. but a 205/65 and a 215/70 isnt that much of a difference.
