lug nut torque spec

What is the proper torque spec for the lugnuts on alloy wheels. I just lost my second lug nut, and was curious if they were torqued to loose or too tight? I just put the winter rims on about a week ago, and noticed this morning that i'm missing another lug nut.

100 ft. lbs is the usual for a Cavvy, you could go to 110 ft. lbs. though, it won't hurt it.

Some people like to go to 80 ft. lbs., but to me that's not enough.. 80 is enough for imports because they are designed with softer metals, but domestics have harder metals and can take more torque.

Thanks for the info. Now to dig out the old fashioned torque wrench. I really need to get a compressor.
