Wheel & Tire Combo help

Hi there.

For the upcoming season I'm looking to buy a combo of wheel & tire. I think my final choice is already made on the wheels with the Motegi FF7 Gunmetal in the size 16x7. I'm not looking to buy anything in 17 or 18 so 16" is really definitive.

Q1. Which color of wheels will match better with a silver car? (gloss black, gunmetal or silver)?

The real help I need here is on the tire side. I'm looking to buy something in the size 225/50/R16 or really close to that. This is for street use but also to get a decent performance out of it. I will be running a S/C Eco pushing 250hp or so, I need something with a good traction rating. I already have a set of Drag Radials for the track so I'm not looking for a replacement set to fill that duty. More something well rounded in : dry & wet traction, cornering, comfort. A tire good in the rain is important to me.

Q2. What would you suggest here to put on all 4? (manufacturer/model/size)

Thanks for your time.

Just if you were asking yourself, this is the suspension setup I'll be running. So I'm looking for the edequate rubber to match and exploit this combo.

I'd look at what I'm running... BF Goodrich g-Force/TA KDW's. all around great tire, except I haven't tried them in snow, since I like in Phoenix.
great cornering, wet and dry traction. a little on the loud side, but then I just crank the stereo.

Yes, this was the primary model I was already looking at.

Your 225/45ZR17 are in the new KDW-2 tread right?

What's your opinion of a 225/45/ZR16 on a 7" wheel?

Thanks.

you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks, I'm now really leaning towards a 225/45/ZR16 BF KDW & Motegi 16" FF7 Gunmetal combo. But I'll still look around if something better pops out. I still also have the 17" option in mind with 225/45/ZR17 but up 19lbs to 22lbs from the 16". And the tire is 25.0 inches which is alot closer to the stock 24.9 I have, the 225/45/R16 been at 23.7.

Recommendations?

For question 1, that is really all based on opinion and taste. What one person likes, there will always be another person that doesn't. Personally I think black wheels with a chrome polished lip on a silver car would look great.
