Touch-up on silver Motegi MR7 wheel
Tuesday, November 14, 2006 6:20 AM
I got my set of Motegi MR7 silver wheels second-hand, so they already had some flaws in the finish. The previous owner must have spun a couple of lugs, and managed to mangle the paint around those lug holes. There was also a nasty tool mark near the bead on one wheel. I accepted this, for the price I paid. In the past month I've managed to add some "character" of my own (read: curb rash). With winter coming up, I was thinking about trying to clean them up a bit. Assuming I prep the surface down to bare alloy, is there something suitable for touching up the silver powdercoat? Or is this a bad idea to begin with?

Oh, they are definitely coming off. I just meant that it will be easier to work on the wheels while they are off the car for the winter.
