ok im planing to get rims, now. some ppl told me here that if i get 18's i will lose turning ratio and my speedo will mess up. I know that there is that faq sticky and has a full chart of stuff, but i cant read that chart to good.
what im asking is will 18x 7.5's with 225/40/18 tires fit good on a 2002 cavalier, without any mods needing to be done?
if you have 18's on ur cavalier can u put pictures so i can see them on a cavy,

Yes, that size will fit fine (and is probably the most popular for 18" wheels on a j-body) and keep your speedometer within 1 mph of normal speed.
My sig shows my 97 Cavy with 18" Motegi MR7s, at stock ride height (which I hope to fix soon). The tires in the picture are 215/35-18s, which are really too small and make my speedo run fast. I will eventually get 224/40-18s to correct this, which also look better with a bit taller sidewall.

Lets put it this way, if you put on 225/40/18's, your speedo will say 60 mph, and you will actually being going 60.5 mph. Not that big of a difference. The rims and tires fit, but you have look at the offset of the rim. This determines how far the tire will stick out of or in the wheel well.
