im sure it didnt help, but i would probably assume incorret wheel torque. might even be a combonation of things gone bad, who knows.

its simple to find out if you have them. take one of your wheels off and look at the hub. there will be a little metal/plasic circle that is slide on the hub, between studs. if its not there then you dont have them (obviously). you want these because the hub rings take the weight off of the studs and center it on the hub. people that dont have them usually shear off studs alot because all the weight is center on the studs and not the hub. their cheap too, only like 20 bucks for a set. studs are also cheap too but do you feel like replacing them all the time?

ebay has them and i think you can order them from some online tire places. youd have to look up the sizes on here though i dont remember off hand. i think our hub size that you need is 57.1mm

last time i looked at the plus size guide i think the centre bore of the cavs/fires is 57.1 mm. now you just need to know what the size of the centre bore on the rim is and your set.

my works starting to carry rings now. they are like $2.50 CDN, which is dirt cheap.

oh, and if anyone cares, apparently the VW Jettas/Golfs share our centre bore too.

I got my car inspected, and tires rotated while I was there (feeling lazy, plus it was only $5 more since he had the rears off anyway)
A few days later Im doing my front brakes......one of the nuts got crossthreaded by dufus at the inspection, and it took a long sitting with an impact wrench and PB Blaster to get the nut off. This destroyed the stud, so I had to replace it. The Haynes manual was pretty useless, so I ended up taking the whole hub off, which meant buying a 32mm socket for the spindle nut. $8, no biggie. After I got the hub off, I could pound the old stud out with a BFH. The new one went in with a bit of a fight too, but the BFH proved to the best the best way to get the new one in too. Then, a little anti-sieze and it all went back together. Im convinced its the house I live in. It's cursed.

ur best bet would be to buy them online. just find out the center bore of our rims and your good. the hub size for our car is 57.1mm then all you need to know is the center bore from your wheel and you can probably buy them on ebay. just google the specs for your wheels, you should find them. if not call the manufacturer and ask them.
