next year i plan to get new wheels and going down to 17" Here is the style that i like but i can't really visualize it on my car. If you have this style please post a photo. if you have a cavi thats OK too i guess...

currently have 18x7.5 w/ 42mm offset and 215/35/18 tires (ALL WRONG, I KNOW)

17x7.5 w/ 35MM offset sound right?

i'm thinking 215/40 or 215/45 for tires

also, what do you guys think of this wheel (not the brand, i havent decided that yet)

kinda remind me of the Enkei EVO5..

theres a burnt orange cavy.. base model 03-05 cav.. cant remember his name.. but he has the EVO5 like im talkin bout and they look badass.. clean and go great with the slammed stock look..

Thats amazing cuz I was planning on getting those exact wheels for my cavalier until I decided to save money for school and more performance goodies

based on my current tire (hankook k106) my total diameter is 23.9". If i go with 17" wheel + 215/45/17 tires, my total diameter will be 24.7"

this works out to actually lifting my car back up .4" off the ground. do you think this will look bad? should I use 215/40? or maybe go 16" wheels

BAAAAAA THIS IS HARD anybody have some nice stockers? or maybe I can find a 215/45 tire that has a total diameter closer to 23.9"

Check my sig, no lip, but you get the idea, 17X8 235/40...........(yeah I know wrong size tire )with +35 offset

No you are right, you want +35 offset, pushes the wheel out nice, with 7.5" wide wheels and 225/45 tires.........which is still the right size, just a little more width (I like a little meat, can ya tell), you shouldn't have any problems at all

I really dig the rims, but get 225/45/17's. the ride will be very nice, it's the closest to factory overall height, and you will not notice a visible difference in ground clearance. What you WILL notice if you get too small of a tire is too much space in your wheelwells.
I have a 1.8" drop (Sprint springs) with 225/45/17's on 17x7" rims with a 35mm offset. You can see the pic in my sig.
