Ok...
I ordered my 18's... now, from your experience, what size tires would fit best w/ no rub, etc?.... I have a CAI, and the filter sits pretty close to the wheel there in the well. Right now I have 225-50R-16's and there is not too much of a gap between filter and wheel when the wheels are turned all the way. I was thinking of going with 225 40R-18, but not sure... Waht do you think?
Chris
225 40 18 only.

Ok,
Thanks... why out of curiousity ONLY that size?
Thanks,
Chris
because its the best looking size and fit. you could go with other sizes, but then it might look funny or rub.

you can fit 40's on and fit, you might get slight rubbing, and bouncing will hit your fenders. 35s might be something to look at but will give you a shoty ride.

And if your roads are crappy like mine are, 35 series would be a definite no. I had 225/40's on my 18's and they were pretty good looking imo.

I put 215 40 zr18 falken fk 451 the speedo is out by .001 its pretty much the exact match to your stock tire and the ride is not to terrible bad bit more road noise the comfort is almost as i had my 16 stock z24 rims on
Ok,
So you are saying that the 40's would rub?

you're about 99% wrong. 40's shouldn't rub.

i have 225/40/18s with a goldline 1.75 drop and i have no rubbing issues.
It wouldnt be any fun if it was easy.
Ok.... so NO rubbing against wheel wells, etc, now about running against the CAI filter sitting in front of the wheel...?
Thanks,
Chris
it shouldnt because the 225/40/18 is almost exactly the same overall diameter of what you have now
Ok
Thanks for everyone's help. It is much appreciated
Chris
No one's mentioned offset - what is it on the rims youre looking at?

Motegi Racing Silver FF6's 18x7" with a 5x100 +45mm offset

actually if you look at wild weasels wheel and tire calculator...the 215/40/18 is almost dead on with the stock diameters....even more so than the 225/40/18's..the 225/40/18's is just a more popular choice on the org.i have 215/40/18's and i love them, as well as the ride.
ClassGlass / RkSport / Eibach / Motegi / Ractive / Borla / K&N
With my Kyowa Racing KR518 (18x7.5 42 offset) i have no rubbing and i have 225/40/18 tires on with the eibach sportline drop. imo 35 series tires make ur 18's look smaller.
