alright here we go... when i bought the 18's that are on my car, they originally had a set of nitto nt555's on them. personally, i liked the grip the tires provided and they had a nice stiff sidewall that didn't roll over when pushed hard through the corners. then they went bald. next came the bfg scorchers i have on the car currently. i bought them used off a friend for next to nothing and i have to be honest... they suck in the wet, they suck in the dry. they roll over pretty noticeably when hustled through a corner. now i'm not sure if it's because the two tires have different speed ratings (most likely a z rating on the nitto's and i'm pretty sure something lower on the scorchers) but i hate the soft sidewalls of the bfgs.
now... i'm gonna be replacing the scorchers before the year is out and i'm looking for a good replacement tire that offers good grip, fairly good tread life (i'm not expecting sticky tires with 70,000 mile treadwear... but something reasonable that will last me at least 2-3 summers or more), and a stiffer sidewall.
options?
My new 18"s have Kelly Fierce HP on them. They are extremly quiet and when i through her through a nice 90 degree corner yesterday at 45-50mph she held her own and didn't let go of the pavement. I am extremly happy with them so far and i only paid $441.XX installed mounted and balanced with road hazzard at Dunn tire.
