In my quest for my "perfect" rim I have been stuck on the 3 spoke design of my stock alloys. I have searched around and came across the Super Advan rims although they are no longer produced, Yokohoma has now produced the version 2 model. I was just wondering if there are any other 3 spokes out there worth my time or should I go for the ADVAN Ver. 2s. The rim size for a 5x100 app is 17.8J with an 48/38 offset. I hope those will work out with no problems hence why I am searching for anymore options that may be out there.
I posted the link so you guys can check em' out and chime in with your comments.
Super ADVAN Racing Ver. 2
I like the Super ADVANS, but I am unsure how they would look on a j-body.
Do you know how much those are EACH?
I love those wheels though, do it!

I loved the Super ADVANs they had a tighter/thinner spoke design, the Ver. 2s are a little wider but I still like them. They are similar in design to my stockers so IMO they will look hot. They are probably the only 3 spokes around that would be worth the money since they are designed for drift racing and other road racing apps. Although I'm not going to be doing anything like that, I just love the look of them.
As for the price since they are a JDM rim, some suppliers need to import them. I found a shop in NYC that is selling them for about 700 for the 17x8s w/o any skin (all 4).
I also looked around online and found a few places that are selling all four complete with skins for about $1400. Not that bad seeing as how that includes wheels, tires, balance, and shipping. I'm going to look further into it and let you guys know.
Hopfully pics will follow
dude, no...700.00 a rims is a waste of money, you can get a better looking wheel for a fraction of the price IMO

Thats what I was saying too. I'm gunna see if I can find a cheaper price somewhere. I really like the 3 spoke design. Chances are if I don't find anything, I'm probably going to stay stock.
Just did another quick search, the cheapest set I found so far is $533.99 a RIM. Still lookin though.
i would take a set in red if i had the money

To each his own. I love the 3 spoke stocks I alreay have and for some reason I can't part with the look, and since I want to upgarde from at 15, this is the next best thing.
not a fan of three spokes
3 spoke rims reminds me of the early/mid 90s
when I think 90's I think of Mag wheels, everyone had to get "MAGS".
I was also thinkin that if I couldn't get the ADVAN Ver. 2s for a good price, that I'd spring for the AVS Model 5s. They are closer to that "GXP" conversion look I'm trying to replicate.
"MAGS" were the 50's, the 60's, the 70's, the 80's and the 90's. All aftermarket aluminum wheels can still to this day be called MAG wheels. Funny to considering MAG was originaly short for MAGNESIUM but after a while it became known as basicly any after market wheel.
They're not too horrible looking but the price puts them squarly in the HELL NO catagory. I'm just glad you didn't pick a set of those ugly ass chrome 3 spoke ones.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
No problem always glad to help.

Sure, but rail a pothole with an Advan and then do the same with some POS eBay rim and tell me which is more worth it.
Note: Don't hit a pothole with $2,800 rims, just using that as an example; You get what you pay for. The only exception to this I think, is rims like Rotas, etc.

Yea especially since the ADVAN Series rims are the same used on most Drift cars. Personally I rather spend the money, For me, I'm staying with the ADVAN series, I just need to choose a style first.
they are so expensive because no one wants them and therefore are pretty much made to order
pretty much thats my opinion on them

Maybe that contributes to the price but also the fact that most of the ADVAN series is imported from Japan might add a few points to their price.

A few people on here have ADVAN series rims, its all up to taste and how much someone is willing to spend.
Aren't Konigs "imported from Japan," too? You can get those for much cheaper than $700/each.

Probably, I dunno, but Konig also has a USA divison. The ADVANs are Drifting rims built by Yokohama Japan.
Yokohama has the USA divison for their tire line, but I believe their ADVAN rims and ADVAN series tires are developed in Japan.
