I'm putting the 16" wheels that I bought from my friend on my car next weekend. The wheels have some sh*tty tires that have been sitting flat for who knows how long, and he has a set of Dayton Daytonas (I think that's right) on his Eclipse, they're 205/55/16 so they're the correct size. The Daytons are pretty much brand new, he only had them for a short time before the motor went, so they're jsut sitting there. Does anyone know much about Dayton tires? I've never used them.
i got some dayton daytonas on my trans am's and i love them
then again for 400 bucks a pop i better love them
ant really go wrong with them!!
I had 225/60HR16 Dayton Daytona HR's on my old Z34 on the stock wheels... those were the @!#$tiest "performance" tires I'd ever driven on... loud as hell, stiff, and handled like crap.
I would pass on those.
Wow. One guy hates them, another loves them. Interesting.
i didnt have the HR i had the ZR,
Understand these are performance tires. They are not the quitest by any chance.
But they handle liek no tomorrow, and are stickey as all hell, which is hwat i love.

Noise doesn't bother me. Crappy handling bothers me. I'm not sure if they're HR or ZR. We haven't pulled them off the car to put them on mine yet. I only remember he said they were around $400, but I don't remember if that was the set or each tire. I'm guessing it's the set since He's selling them to me for $200 and they were barely even used.
I had some Dayton Daytona Touring tires. Nothing high performance. They had like a 80,000 mile warranty on them. I had no problems with them. Wore evenly. At the time, I wanted a cheap tire with the highest mileage that I could find. I finally replaced them due to age, and a nail through an unrepairable spot.
All I know is when I switched to my Kumho Ecsta Supra 245/45-17's road noise went down, handling went wayyyy up (disproportionate to the size change) and comfort went way up.
When I went back to stock a bought a set of Kumho Ecsta 716's and the handling was the same but road noise and comfort increased a lot.
I guess we'll see how they work. But they're the the HRs, I did manage to find that out. I still haven't pulled them off the Eclipse yet because I still need to firure out how to get the rims off of the Daytona, the tires off the Eclipse mounted on them, and get them mounted on my car so I can swap my wheels and tires to one of those cars all without leaving either car sitting on the rims. Yeah. I'm gonna need more jack stands.
