my car currently with these rims, they are 17's with 225, 45-17
So im gona get new rims... im looking at the
ff7
or
dp10
Now which do you guys like, do you feel like i should go with gunmetal or black, and most importantly, which size tire do i need to keep the stock diameter like i do now. Im just trying to suck up more tire by getting 18's
And also, what offset should i get to avoid rubbing but have a nice lip, i have +45 on my current rims

well i know u guys, including me hate the what rim should i get posts... it should be personal pref. Anyways i want the motegi dp10's in bronze
and i just got done reading the wheel faqs about size, offset, tiresize etc.
part number size off. lug weight
2405-8880 18x8 +40 6 5x100 23.5 lbs
anyways, the faq said for size to get an 18x7 or 7.5... will a x8 rub with 225x40 18 tires, or should i get a 215, or?
and does anyone have pics with this tire size? main reason im going up from 17's is to take up some tire size, but i want to retain the stock diam

Thanks, I'm proud, I just need a drop to lose the 4x4 look. Bronze would look sick on your car. It would be a good accent to the paint.

yep, i like the look, trying to get something similar to how my old ones look now... they are just banged up and people who dont understand the stock diameter thinking make fun of how much tires there. So ill show them... 18's ! lol
but anyone got any knowledge about 18x8 rims with a 40 offset and 225 40 18 tires, and if they will rub or not? Thats rather wide with a thicker tire then 215. Im wondering if it would even clear my struts bump plate (no idea if thats what its called)... i have kyb agxs if that helps

Well, I have 225/45/17's on my car and I have about 1" of clearence from tire to strut plate. I found a tire calculator online and my overall diameter is 24.97" (643.23mm). The overall diameter of a 225/40/18 is 25.08" (637.03mm) so considering I have an approx 1" gap and the difference is only .11" (6.2mm), I'd say you'll be just fine.

holly crap, what was i thinking... the tire to strut would be the same basically... no idea what i brought that up. alright well then.. i guess my only question is whether or not the 18x8 is to wide at a 40 offset to keep away from rubbing

As far as rubbing the strut, no. The lower the offset number, the higher the offset, i.e. the farther they stick out of the fenders. With a 40mm offset, you might rub the front fenders with a drop because my 42mm offset rims are flush with the outside of the front fenders so a 40mm will be even farther out. I am no means an expert in this so more knowledged opinions are a must before you plop down the cash.
