This is going to be the first time that I will have ever changed my rim size and I have looked but every place I find doesn't seem to have the information. My car came stock with 14" rims, and on the wheel and tire FAQs that happens to be the only chart that doesn't show up. Will 225/40's work for 18's without making my speedo to far off?
Will 18's fit without rubbing or causing any other problems?
What do you guys recommend 18's or 17's? These are the one I am thinking about getting

I have found them in 17X7's also but they are more expensive, any advice will be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Also I want to make sure I have this right, 5x100 with 42mm offset? Does that sound right? Is there anything else I will need to know when I order my rims on Friday?
yea you want the 225/40/18 tire thats the only correct one on there for you. 18x7.5 w/ a 42mm offset is fine
18's look hot and thats why I got them BUT due to the small sidewall you will feel every bump in the road. Now if your cool with that then great! But if you want any ride comfort I'd say stick to the 17's.
