ok
Phewes is running a 19x7.5 with 35mm offset, and tucks nicely
CarbonCav04 was running 19x8 with 38mm offset and tucks nice
Cavattack had 19x8 with 42mm offset and looked like he didnt clear like the others did.
my question, why is it the 35mm and the 38mm(even with wider rim) appear to tuck better than the ones with the 42 offset like i was told i should get
if you look at that wheel ofset calculator i sent you, you will see that the offset takes into acount the width of the rim. rims are widend from the center line of the wheel usually, not where the flange is ( the part that mounts to the hub of the car). so if a rim is widend from the center line out in bothe directions, the offset should remain the same.
this whole picking wheel thing can be a bit of a pain in the arse.
ps. eazy, i have an update to the wheel ofset calculator that now makes it do more than just that. you can use it now to measure how wide a perticular tire will actually measure out on a perticular rim. combine those measurements with the offset calc, and you can now be able to predetermine if a rim / tire package will fit on your car. i just need to write the help file for the width calc.
i'll email it when im done.
Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
Im in the same boat dunno what rim/tire to get along with air ride.
I'm gonna hit, 17x8's with a 35mm offset, and 215/45's.
No tucking?
SO what you guys think of these?
Motegi DPK 18x8 with 225x35x18 for tires. Also anyone know what the offset is for the DPK?
Alba Bank 18x7.5 with 225x40x18 Also dunno what offset they come in?
Any thoughts thanx.
^ I have Alba Banks on my car....I love them....I had them make me a custom offset of 42 mm from 35mm, they are 19 x 7.5...They will look even better with my paint
Good luck

I was told the banks came with a 40mm offset i almost bought them.
whew.. this will be interesting to see how my wheels do.. I was counting on cutting and rolling the fender.
I have the 18x 7.5 35mm off set to get around 13 inch front baer brakes.
I have the fender flares on my car and i was thinking of cutting everything behind the flare off. Cut the front fender below were the flare attaches.
What do you guys think about this? I was going to do that for the front and just roll the back fender.
Great thread...
I am in the same boat... I am ready to go to 20's... now I like 20x8.5 with 30 offset for front and 20x9 with 30 offset for rear. Now I am on konis and sportlines but will be on bags by the summer so ....
Is this a possible setup
and what would I need to do to make this work...
awesome

that offset is too low. its going to stick out

thats your new best friend anyone wanting this info
stock rim is 6" wide on Gt with 42 mm offset anything 8.5 will hit something no matter what higher offset more in you go this wil hit your suspension only way to do it is widebody to tuck on 8.5
If I can find a 22x7.5 38mm offset wheel, it shouldnt be that hard to find something in a 19 or 20 that fits. My Foose Lusso's were 19x7.5 45mm offset and nooo problems at all.
Not to post jack, but i was looking into getting some adr cypher rims in 18x7.50. should i go with a 42mm offset or a 48mm offset? I am not going with an air ride, but will most likely be going with the pro streets. what do you guys think?

Where do you get all your info from, YOU ARE WRONG! Please stop posting!
My wheels are 19x8 32mm offset. I ROLL WITHOUT RUBBBING ALL THE WAY DOWN and I CAN TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had 20x7.5's with a 45mm offset on my cav last summer, GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!? THE STUCK OUT TOO FAR UP FRONT AND WOULD NOT TUCK! THEY HIT THE FENDER!
Why would the number getting BIGGER make it stick out LESS? Pretty dumb, don't you think?

THE LIPS ON MY FENDERS ARE CUT OFF COMPLETELY!
20x7.5 with a 45mm offset, THEY ARE STOPPED ON THE INSIDE OF THE FENDER!!! Marking up the tires.
My 19x8's with a 32mm offset. I havbe about a 1/4" between the tire and the inside of the fender, as far as how far out they are. You get get your finger in between there.
I'd Say my 19x8's Tuck Better than Ryans,Aaron's and now Darin's 19x7 Racing Hart C5R's. My front DOES NOT TUCK like Darin's (Phewes) Because we have Different Air Struts, the Easystreet Struts GO REALLY LOW, my AIM doesn't go that low but they HAVE HELLA LIFT, And I like having the ability to get in and out of driveways without breaking my Type-J like I did before.
HELLIFIED CLEARANCE up front with the rear bumper an inch off the ground.
So yeah, a 19x8 with 32mm, TUKN! Maybe not a 8.5 as far as backspacing and rubbing the wheel well when you turn, but going with a 215/35/19 will make it as small as it can be.
BaggedFire's 20 and 22" combo, Guess what offset he used? 34mm!

Easy - from now on, it would probably be easier just PM'ing the people you know have the wheel, suspension combo your looking into, that way you don't get misslead by people who are telling what they heard or what they think.
You know how bad it would suck to go out and buy a set of wheels and tires based on what these people are telling you and having it be a mistake? Just lookiong out for ya buddy.
Way back when I first got my 19's, people were telling me on HERE if I got Bags they would rub. WRONG.

awesome
On a 7.5 or 8" wheel I KNOW it will work, the 8.5" would be calling it close, not to the fender but the inside edge of the wheel closer to the motor, and probably only rub when you turn all the way.
see if you can find a 20x8" instead. When my 19x8's are turned ALL THE WAY there is MINIMAL space on the inside edge when lowered all the way, like a couple mm's. But as long as your not turning and roll as low as possible you should be ok.
