I recently got new tires and rims for my '04 cavalier. They are 17" rims, and P225/45R-17 tires, and I was wondering if my speedo needed to be recalibrated.
i dont think it can. not that i heard anyway.
your speedo probaly wont be off by much
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
What they said...depending on what your stock size was, you are either right on or you will be going .2 faster than what your speedo says.
Try this on for size...

After you fill in the required information and click submit or whatever it says, at the bottom of the results will be the difference in the speedometer reading. Where it says "Speedometer 1," that is actually how fast you will be going when your speedometer reads 60mph.
I'm sorry I screwed up. Where it says 'Speedometer 1,' that is what your speedometer will read when you are going 60mph.
Also since i forgot about your other question, I've never heard of recalibrating a speedometer, if its possible it sounds expensive though. I would just watch your speed and if your speedometer comes out of that chart as too slow, just stay under the speed limit 1 or 2 mph and you should be ok. If the speedometer comes out too fast, just stay above the speed limit 1 or 2 mph.
