I am looking to replace my 215/45HR17 Nankang NS1 Tires for some 225/45/17's so can anybody give me some info on comparable of these too types of tires. Just an FYI I don't street race and I rarely or intentionally even peel out unless my car chirps on occasion so all I am interested are just some cheap summer tires for my 17's.
Kumho ECSTA 711
(High Performance Summer)
Size: 225/45HR17
Price: $61.00 each
VS.
Sumitomo HTR Z
(Ultra High Performance Summer)
Size: 225/45WR17
Price: $63.00 each
I don't know why but I feel these unknown brand my be better. But again I am a newb with automotive stuff. And I really don't care about brand name products just along it does what I need it to do is work when I give it gas and stop when I brake pretty much. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

well pretty much anything you get is going to be better then the ns-1's i have tried the kumho's and they were decent they handled ok i guess. i havent tried the Sumitomo but may i suggest a different tire for around the same price. they are hankooks and i think you will be much happier with them. remember you get what you pay for here is the link to where you can get them
click here . i would also suggest going with a 225/40/17 that will keep you closer to your speedometer. hope that helps

incorrect, the 225/45/17 is the right tire size
i have the 711s on my 18s right now and i like them.
Out of those, The Sumitomo is a much better choice. I wouldn't buy either of them tho.

yea ive read about the ecsta before i bought them and everyone said they had problems w/ them about bubbling on the side wall but ive had mine on since the summer time and i havent had a problem yet. the car handles good w/ those tires. i guess when i drive it more i might notice something w/ the bubbling.
I'm in Cleveland, and I just gt the 711's in 225/50/16. They look nice, aren't as bad as everyone said they were in the snow. we've had a few snows since I've had 'em, and while they're not snow tires, they're not bad. Grippy in the dry and wet. As for wear, not sure yet, I've only had them a month or so.
Gotta keep on livin', L-I-V-I-N
I have that 225/45/17 on my truck in the ecsta 711, they blew in the snow for me but its also a truck and not a car, i thought they seemed to grip like crap in the rain, but on corners they gripped awesome. i never had any problems with bubbleing, and for smokeshows, well now they worked AWESOME! lol. i won a burnout contest with those tires. good stuff.
I'm running 711's and they are great in all weather but snow !
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
are they suppose to be all season tires?
( shrug ) Who knows ? I was just saying.
