compared to what?

i think u have offsets backwards. a 35 mm offset will be closer to the fender edge than a 45 mm offset. the 45 will be deeper into the wheel well, closer to the strut and farther away from the fender.

^^^ok, i do have them backwards. i was thinking the 43mm would be sticking out further, instead of into the wheel well further. thanks man. i appreciate it.

so if i went with a 19 x 8 with a 48mm offset, would i be ok adding the extra 1/2" width? would i still have issues tucking??

not to post jack but did you get a chance to work on that sig?

with that width you might be ok, but then i'd be careful with hitting the strut on the inside.

this sucks. its damn near impossible to find 19x7.5 rims with a decent offset. the only one ive found that i would ever even consider is the Motegi FF7's, and im not sure i really like those.

ok, well, it dosent look like i can find any 19's with a decent offset, so i guess im goin 18's. i can find 20's with the correct fit, but i dont think i wanna go that big.

so, hopefully last question

will 18x7.5 w/ 42mm offset tuck in nice? i think if i remember correctly, that would be ideal, but just to double check. thanks

they should, but you're still gonna have to roll the rear fenders (and MAYBE the fronts and removing the front liners) regardless.

ya, i was planning on rolling them all, no matter what rims i get.

so basically, no matter the size/offset, i should roll anyways?

Re: rim offset / width / air question

yea roll it anyway. i have 18x7.5 w/ a 48mm offset and i clear w/ the fronts rolled. the back just barely clears the lip by like 1mm

like i said, i cut tires on the 1/4 panel with that size and offset on KDW2s.

front fits fine but fenders are rolled.

speaking of rolling 1/4 panel lips (rear "fenders" for others)

how the hell do u go about doing that without fudging up the 1/4 panel???

well, if you get it done by a shop that has the tool, you normally dont have a problem.

but i will say that 1) there is a slight chance of the paint cracking around the bottom edge and 2) if you look CLOSELY at my quarter panel, you can tell that the panel has become a little "flared" compared to what it was stock. but its not that big a deal and i guarantee its very very hardly noticeable. its well worth it rather than cutting into tires and having to buy new ones and possibly having a blowout.

im changing up my wheels anyways.

i was just wondering.

ied rather change wheels than risk body panels.

yea you cant really tell unless you actually know what your looking for. what i did was take a dremel and cut slits into that lip, then i took a bat and placed it on the tire. i lowered that corner so it sat right on the bat and i just pushed down on the bat and rolled it around the tire to push the little tabs up and out of the way and give a little roll to the quater panel

^ speaking of which.

i HIGHLY recommend for people NOT to cut SLITS into their quarter panel. IF for any reason one of those slits comes down and decides to hit your tire, you will no longer have a sharp straight edge hitting your tire, you will have a jagged piece that could act like a knife in just one stroke, causing a blowout. not to mention it will also grab and bend the quarter panel.

well ive had mine like this for over 2 years now and never had a problem. it is a very good point though that i never thought of. what if you were to just cut the lip out? would that weaken the quater panel by alot? i heard cutting it off was not a good idea

ive been looking all over Jegs for the fender roller tool, but cant find it. im almost positive thats where i seen it sold before. and i thought i remembered it being a pretty high price.

www.eastwood.com carries a fender roller.

oh and great news, my wheels are actually 40mm offset. thank god EVERY single place they are for sale states 42mm. and right on the back of a spoke it says 40mm.

so disregard my comments about 42mm from before.

buy that fender roller and come over and roll mine!

ok, sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but a few things are still confusing me........

ok

Phewes is running a 19x7.5 with 35mm offset, and tucks nicely
CarbonCav04 was running 19x8 with 38mm offset and tucks nice
Cavattack had 19x8 with 42mm offset and looked like he didnt clear like the others did.

my question, why is it the 35mm and the 38mm(even with wider rim) appear to tuck better than the ones with the 42 offset like i was told i should get

well, the difference between a 7.5 (35) and 8 (42) is about 2mm. regardless, ive had 7.5 (35) and in no way did i ever think it would tuck nicely. kinda depends on the wheel i guess lol.

I've had 19x75(42mm offset) and 18x8's(38mm offset) and both wheels fit exactly the same....

guess it does depend on the wheel...

Joe, the Motegi DPK's i just ordered are 18X8 with a 40mm offset... I bet those would work well.. kind of right in the middle of all of those.

I have 19x8's with a 42 or 45 mm offset on mine. They are axis mesh 2's. with a 225/35 tire. I cut up the rear wheels, until i rolled, now i have no problems tucking or turning.
