I am trying to replace the shift cables on a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire GT with the 2.4L LD9 model engine. The transmission shifts pretty good but there is a huge amount of slop when in gear and going from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd the 4th there is some resistance and an audible popping noise.

Can someone tell me what manual/standard transmission is in this car, the Isuzu MK7 or the MJ1?

Can anyone confirm the model number: MK7 or the MJ1 ???

Searched around and ordered AC Delco 22650716 and it worked perfectly. The bushings on both ends were completely gone.
