I am inquiring if i add high performance injectors, high performance fuel pump, and do the full turbo kit to my 2.2L would the transmission hold up too all the added torque and horsepower or will i have to get a better transmission. I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier. and i want to add power to it. if i have to get a new one or rebuild it. how would I go along making it handle the power from all the mods.
auto sorry about that. I was considering doing a automatic to manual swap. but i wondering if my transmission is good for what i want to do. It's a 4T40e.
If it has been taking care of yes it can. And not a huge amount of miles on it. I was pushing a 125 shot of nos on my 2.2 for a while and tranny held up fine ,engine on the other hand not so well lol. Cooked the motor. If you unsure of condition of tranny have it rebuilt first then run boost. Mine was automatic.
