I have searched around and can't seem to find a straight answer. I have a Getrag F23 5 Speed laying in my garage from a 2002 Cavalier 2.2 NON-Ecotec. I have a friend that has a 1997 Cavalier that is manual and 5th is shot. Can I swap my transmission in or is it too much to bother with? I've seen people talking about swapping their auto transmissions for these but never the older 5 speed. Does the computer hook up differently or anything? Do I need 00-02 linkage? Anyone done this?
