reason i ask is because mine seems like it goes way further than i remember my white car's going. mine is a 2000 z24 and it flashes all the way to 3000 when i brake stand it. works great for launching and im not worried im just wondering why the hell its so high compared to what i remember my 98 z24 doing. ive asked around too, its uncommon to see 3000, most see around 2500-2800. i know for a FACT its a stock converter, too.
thoughts? what are you guys flashing too?
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
My yank 3000 stall "red in color" normally flashes 2800-3000.
My stock stall flashes from 2200-2400 normally.
I want a 3500-3800 stall now.

stupid question perhaps but what is "flashing"
its when you stand on the brake with your foot on the gas and the engine revs up. where it stops is the torque converter's "flash point".
think of it like a 5 speed car when you keep the rpm at a certain level for the launch, same deal here. obviously the same goes with the 5speed as the auto, the higher you essentially have the rpm on the launch typically the better you can pull out of the hole, provided of course you have traction.

oh ok thanks that makes sense just never heard the term flashing before
I usually flash to 2 minutes and 12 seconds. I have had a few 8 minute flashes.
