Can you pull the tranny by itself (less engine)

2004 auto cavvy.

Can the tranny be pulled by itself or do i have to pull both?

for an auto id say both need to come out, manuals can be done pretty easy however.

You can pull the tranny itself, ive done it twice. Yes it takes a bit more time but hell who cares lol. I wouldn't even say it is any easier pulling the engine and tranny since it all comes out at once with @!#$ in the way and all the stuff you have to disconnect from the engine.

Just support your engine, then take out the tranny. I think it took me and a buddy of mine about 2 hours to pull the tranny itself.

Can the engine be cranked an ran with the tranny out? Or is the tranny part of the whole motor mount system?

Also will come out from the bottom or the top? (Bottom I suspect)

dont do this...

you wont have proper engine mounts

just pulled my 5spd out and put it back in solo in a few hours!!!


and agreed, dont start your engine without a trans on it.... why would you even want to?

How would you start it with the tranny out? I thought the started bolted to the bell housing.

Don't pull, Drop. Car on jack stands real high and take it out from under the car.
