like the header topic explains, i ran across a couple threads about having a trans cooler would be an ideal investment to prolong the car's transmission(along with a tranny shift kit). also i saw that some ppl paid only 30 bucks for the trans cooler. whether it was new or used i dont know, thats one of my questions, the other being where can i go for the best prices? thanks in advance.
Having a Z is close enough to having an import.....
You already have a stock oil cooler for the trans. It is built into your stock radiator. The shift kit also helps. Let us know we have them in stock.

the one that comes with the radiator stock is hardly efficient enough if you actually get on the gas more than morgan freeman in driving ms daisy...
first thing i;d recommend you get is a transmission temp guage...
if you find yourself going over 215 often, get an external cooler....
any factory trans cooler in the radiator does the bare minimum. think about it, your sending hot trans fluid into an area that holds maybe 12 oz of fluid, surrounded by hot antifreeze trying to get cooled down running lets say 180 degrees. the trans fluid isnt getting very cool. put the biggest cooler you can fit on, make sure it has a cold weather bypass on it if your in cold climate, you can run it alone or in series with the radiator, just make sure its flowing back from the aux. cooler to the trans. its the best thing you can do for your automatic. a good one sells for 80 to 100 bucks and has all the install hardware. a trans doesnt need heat to work well, in fact the torque converter creates all the heat. thats why the torque converter exhausts into the cooler than to the pan. heat kills trannys. overheating is caused by many factors, a clogged cooler or low fluid level.if your beating on the converter by trying to stall it your asking for trouble, any temp over 190 will start causing damage. 215 is abuse.
I'm interested in getting an aftermarket trans cooler, but for now I want to install a temp gauge. I was thinking of putting a t-fitting in at the trans before the line to the cooler for the sender, can anyone tell me what size I need to get to fit?? OR any other sender mounting ideas? Thanks!
