ok first off its a 98 2.4 manual a d today i got in my car backed out of my spot no problem went into first no problem and drove thru the lot when i got to the road i gave it some gas and after about 50 feet i had nothing it goes into all the gears no problem but feels like i dont have a clutch but the clutch has about 1030 miles on it and it had no problem b4 this
If you can put it into all the gears without grinding and without putting the clutch in while the car is running it is for sure a clutch thats not grabbing.

it wont go into gear without pushing in the clutch
check and see if one of the axles popped slightly out of the transmission housing. SO something after the gears is messed up either one of the axles isnt connected or your differential is junk.

ok well ill take a look tomorrow around lunch the car is across campus right now and i have class in the morning but any other opinions are greatly appreciated
check your axles, more likely than not one has popped out of the differential.
my buddy had this problem with his focus, and it was one of his axles popped out, so i agree with everyone else, check the axles
runs good wont move, hahaha. Sounds like a buyers special. That come with a salvage title?

dude why are you such a dick?
lol, because he drives a j-body, lol, anyways, ya check your axles, if not that your differential could be @!#$. happened to me, same thing. but i had a clunk first. and it sounds like the transmissions grabbing but nothings making it to the axles.
Have a similar problem, my differential hasnt fully @!#$ the bed yet but close. I can still drive the car, just pops and jerks inthe direction the car is going.
I had the same problem 5-6 years ago, car wouldnt move at all, ended up being the spider gears in the diff were stripped, there was no prior warning of anything being wrong.
