after putting my motor back i am trying to bleed my clutch and i have been through two bottles of brake fluid but the pedal still feels soft, i started it up for a minute and let the clutch disengage and it took off fine but the pedal still feels really soft. it is a stock pressure plate and has a new slave cylinder

Do you see any bubbles in the line when you bleed it?
at first i saw alot but after the first bottle none

Our clutches to some extent will self-bleed. If you are 100% sure you have all the bubbles out, close the bleeder, fill the reservior, and pump the clutch pedal like crazy. It might be that you havent drove the car in a while, but our clutches are soft from the factory.
My 87 Horizon had a stiffer clutch than my Sunflower does.

the pressure plate is a brand new gm presure plate, like i said a new slave cylinder. and oh hey, a act 6 puck? wonder where i got that crazy idea from....

I had a similar issue when i swapped motors in my car, I put the same clutch in as I took out and ended up with a soft clutch pedal after I bled it.
I thought I did something wrong, and was so pissed that I might have to take it all apart again.
I noticed that there were a million tiny bubbles in the reservoir after i bled it for like 20 minutes (I did one big bottle cause i wanted to flush out the old fluid), not sure what the cause of it was, but i associated the millions of bubbles with it all being torn apart.
I went inside to clean up before i went back out to finally test drive it, about 15 minutes.
I drove it around the block a few times, and it seemed to slowly get back to normal, and its been holding on for 70k miles (ive got a turbo behind it now and its still grips, and its the original clutch at 145k)
So long as its not leaking, and all the parts are working the way they should, you should be ok. Just drive it around nicely for a while and see how it acts.

well i took my car for a 30 mile ring seat drive and the clutch is still very soft but holy hell it grabs. the 6 puck is like instant engagement and is hard to take off without making a scene

I have a similar situation. I had to replace my transmission in my 97 Z24. After getting everything back together and bleeding it FOREVER, it is still not the way it was before. it is also affecting my shifting as it doesn't want to go in to gear. Then every now and then, if I have the clutch all the way to the floor, it doesn't fully engage and the car will still move forward slightly, like a snowmobile if you lift the track off the ground. Help please. This is the first day I have driven it since I got it, it fought me the whole way.
Could this be a slave cylinder issue? I used the one that came with the used tranny that I bought, should I have used the one that was in my car originally..
My situation, maybe about 2 months ago randomly it started feeling noticeably soft and I didn't really like it. I bled it like crazy and nothing changed. It still grabs nicely and doesn't slip(knock on wood)...I'd say that's just how it is, my dad's Audi A4 clutch is like trying to squish a rock when shifting, hurts my knees lol try driving then bleeding again, might just be stuck with a soft pressure plate, you'll be happy with it when you get stuck in traffic
How soft is too soft? I know that when you replace an old, rusty pressure plate and clutch with new ones it tends to feel A LOT softer. That's how it was for my 01 F23. Just got used to it after awhile. It's given me no trouble for ~40k. I do hate it though. After driving my vette with a serious, non-hydraulic clutch I can't even feel the clutch in my cavy.
