I bought some of these a while back for my 05 cav/ getrag trans..
I'm pretty sure they are not correct as they will probably pull out of the trans if I tighten the axle nut, I got them from advance auto and just looked up the part numbers and according to thier site they are the correct ones
Its pretty frequent to get the wrong ones, anyone seen this before where the numbers match but they are wrong?

how will it 'probably' pull out? if u seat it correctly it should be captured securely in there. after u seat it give it a tug, if it comes out either its NFG or not seated correctly.
Or, they're too short and will eat the U-Joint, not pull out of the tranny.

I just went through hell with Autozone about a month ago. I blew a CV boot on my manual 05 Sunfire on the passenger side and I had to get a new axle. So I found out Autozone had them in stock so I went there and they had two different axles in the same boxes with the same part numbers. One looked like a stock axle and the other one looked different but it was the correct length and the splines were right. So i got the one that looked like the stock one. I threw that one on and it was fine for maybe two wks then it started to make a noise. So it was under warranty but they had to order it cause they didn't have any more in stock and I didn't wanna risk getting the other axle that didn't look like the factory one. Two days later the part came in... They sent me the completely wrong one but the box had the correct part number on it.
I didn't feel like waiting for another part to come in so I went and got the other axle. Tried to put it on and it would not seat into the tranny. It looked like the splines were not rounded enough on the end compared to the stock one and it didn't want to pop into place. So i returned everything and went to Advance Auto and got a brand new one that fit and its been fine ever since.
What got me was that I went through 3 different axles with the same part numbers all in the same boxes from Autozone.
thats funky. good to know, i gotta buy a new one for driver side. was gonna go to autozone but looks like ill be going across the street to advance
I had issues with gsp axles as well. My passenger side one was correct but my driver side one was jacked up. It was very very hard to get into the tranny. I had no option but try and use it I shouldn't have. But we tried it finally popped in and worked but we test drove it down the road turned to the left and it popped out of the tranny. So we towed it home and tried again. Finally it stayed. Then a week later it snapped the axle where the cv joint mounts to the solid axle. It cleanly broke the solid part in half. So I think it was wrong from the start even tho the part number was correct. So I got another one and I haven't had any issues. If I break this one I am just getting the rebuilt stock ones. The gsp ones are junk.
well i just bought one from advance where i work and im pretty sure its wrong or my trans shrunk an inch i drove it out of my drive way and it fell apart
u sure u seated it in the trans properly?
it was in the trans lol it pulled the boot in half and through bearings everywhere
oh what a mess. that sounds like fun
