I have a 2000 cav that has a 3sp trans in it...this thing is a dog to get moving 0-60times are in the 20sec range...mpg isnt there either...i had a 96 2door cav with a 4sp and the thing was alot faster and got alot more mpg...ive looked up swaping out transmissions on this car to try to figure out my best options. I would eventually like to swap out the motor to an eco to get some more power out of it but thats long time down the road since my car only has 25,000miles. I was looking for a trans that would bolt up to both motors (2200 and an eco) from what ive read u can get 5speeds that can but not the 4speed autos??? A 4sp swap looks alot easier then a 5sp would be but doing the same work when i get a new motor would be kinda tarded also. So im just making sure theres not a 4sp auto that would bolt up to both these motors

you can go from 3 speed to 4 speed. But I think you need a new computer. Also, the 4 speeds are NOT interchangeable. But I think the 5speeds are. Dont quote me on that tho. If there not, it maybe as easy as changing the bellhousings. Again, dont quote me on that. Goodluck!!!
