Need help with clutch (no pedal, leaking from inside bell housing)

OK... So here is whats going on. I dont know very much about clutchs/trans so bear with me. I rebuilt my motor in my 2001 2.4L. When I got it back in yesterday, I realized that my clutch pedal was on the floor and if I pulled on it, it would snap back up, but It had no pressure at all. I thought maybe I screwed up putting the throwout bearing in, so Instead of screwing around I jerked the motor back out and everything looked fine. So, then I figured I would bleed the clutch. There didnt seem to be any air in the system. And when I stopped bleeding it, all the fluid came out right around the splines and throwout bearing. Anybody have any clue what the hell is going on. This is probably an easy question to answer, but like I said.... I dont know much about trans. I also did some searching, but none of it really made any sense to me. Thanks
Rob

Sounds like the line that clips in is either not pushed in all the way or the tob decided to rip or something on you.

Only things I can think of anyways.

ok... so what is the seal that is right behind the spring.. the smaller one that is metal and rubber. cause it came out. Did the pressure building out just push that seal out and cause the leak? so... do I have to have the motor in to bleed it? Sorry I sound really stupid.

Yes you need the motor in the car to bleed the slave/tob otherwise it go boom.

So... I need a new Slave....greeeat. How hard are those to put in... I mean.. the motor is still out and everything, so its just a matter of the 4 bolts in the center...? What else to look for?

You have to pull the transmission out to get to the slave cylinder. That's more than likely what's leaking if its coming out of the bell housing.
