HPTuners vs Shiftplus

So whats the better one foe the 4t40e? I want to get my tranny tuned to some extent. I know this can be done. The guy who did my friends GP did an amazing job with the trans tuning and it shifted beautifully but he doesnt tune for J's or 4 cylinders for that matter. Im looking to get rid of the lag I have in the downshift. If Im coming out of a corner off of the gas and I give it gas it has the pause and then the downshift. Too much lag for my taste.

So would a Shiftplus help me out or should I just bite the bullet on the extra cash and find a tuner who will do my car for me.?

I have tuned a J or 2 with the auto trans and it makes a HUGE difference. Go with HPT you will be glad you did.

How much can we change in our trans tables? Just TC lockup and line pressure or can we do shift times and rev limits and stuff?

I don't know the exact settings I had with my tune, but I had the shiftplus, and pulled it out when I got a=my N/A tune.. and the shifting was much improved. HPT was def. the way to go, unfortunately I don't know exactly what values were changed though..

. Hey man I got someone that can tune it for around 100 bucks with HPT, he did my v6 tuning. Plus you need to take a ride in my car anyways. I've tried to get ahold of you a few times. Just finished the swap like 4 weeks ago.

Oh really. How did you try to get ahold of me?

Id be interested in that if I can get the money together. Ive got a stash of parts that need to go on.

I sent you a message a few weeks ago. I'd get all you're parts on then tune from there. What all parts you got?

I never got it. Weird.

None of my parts would affect the tune. Its all suspension stuff and a few body panels.

Jeffie has been telling me that getting a nice base tune on my car would wake it up and make it more enjoyable to drive. The downshift times kill me. I like a nice snap to power when I gun it.

the shiftplus is great for what it is. but that's it. i still think it's basically some of the best 40 or so bucks i've ever spent on my car.

but i'm also sure that hpt would blow it out of the water. but then again 40dollars>600dollars lol
