It will not move in any forward gears, but it will move in reverse.
If you put it into 1-5th gear and let go of the clutch.. it doesn't do a thing.
Just makes a grinding/ratcheting sound.
Reverse will catch and move, sometimes do the above, sometimes wont.
If it is the differential...
I've managed to come up with another 2.4 tranny with a bad 3rd gear, but the tranny works in all other gears.
How long/hard of a job is it to change out the differential?
Both transmission are out of the cars, so that's already taken care of.
I've got the time to swap them, I just want to know what the difficulty is we're talking about.
Are there any walk-thru's online, or even just some pictures?
What kinda tools will I need?
