So I have a bully stage 3 (4 puck) in my car now and ran it for one summer put around 15-20,000kms on it and when the pulled my motor last week they took a look at the clutch and said its almost worn down to the rivets. I was told by someone that puck clutches aren't the best for "power" shifting but rather a full disc would be better for a drag racing setup. I'm a little surprised that the clutch wore out that fast as I only have 187 wtq and its supposedly rated at 320ft/lbs but I have done a lot of racing last summer and maybe its just the nature of the beast. The clutch has never slipped on me before but I don't want to have to pull everything apart once it gets back together. I'm going to try and look around for a full disk clutch and see what I can find. I am getting pictures sent to me in a bit and I'll post them up when I get them so you guys can take a look and tell me what you think.
Well after calling bully and getting some measurements of the clutch everything seems to have checked out fine. Apparently there are different colors/thickness of the disk and the overall thickness is supposed to be 300 thousand and thats what it measures. I also did find out that the stage 3 is good for 350whp and 380-400ft lbs. So I am going to be shooting for a little bigger number this year. At least I don't need a new clutch after one season, but I guess it was good to look into.
