Hey all,
been a while since I've been on, and now i roll in a 99 Z24 5-speed.
here's where my problem currently lies...I replaced the clutch master cylinder about a year ago, and on saturday I just replaced the clutch and slave cylinder, but no matter how much i bleed it I seem to continue to get air back in the system, after driving just a couple minutes.
any thoughts?
how are u bleeding it exactly?
I've gravity bled, pressure bled by pumping the pedal, pressure bled with a bleeding machine....basically if theres a way to bled it i've done it to my knowledge.....but the catch is, im not loosing fluid (no leaks) but air seems to get in after approx 10 min of the vehicle idling or if i drive around the block
I had the exact same problem, you must either REVERSE Flow bled or Vacuum bleed. I chose to Reverse flow because it was cheap.
Get pumping oil canister, fill it with fluid. Suction ALL of the Fluid out of your clutch reservoir. Then run a small rubber hose from the Pump canister to your bleeder valve. Now slightly open the valve. Pump fluid into the system via the bleeder until your reservoir is full or until the bubbles stop. now Slowly squeese the trigger on your oil pump while simultaneously closing the bleeder valve. Once the valve is shut, pull the hose, pump the clutch.... your done.
ya thats how our machine works....i might add that this problem has been occuring since november and ive bled it approx twice a week...
OK so here's an update from tonight....
Went through the system and ensure everything was tight and no leaks (again)...removed the reservoir and inspected for any damage, none. soo for the sake of the arguement, i hose clamped bout ends of the reservoir hose to the master cylinder....this seems to have fixed or at least GREATLY prolonged the issue...I shall let you know if things change or if this actually was the problem :s

Just saw this post and was going to recommend this. I have had this happen.

good to kno someone else has had this occur. Did you just hose clamp it as well?
