Ahh...to wake up to a shifter that does nothing! That's what's crappenin' this fine Friday. I got up, cranked the 99 cavy auto 2200 ohv 3 speed, cranks like a champ... Went to put it in gear and when i press the button on the crappy factory shifter knob i'm slipping all over the place but it does not go into gear. it's just freakin loose as a prom dress! Took the crappy factory plastic console off to see if maybe a cable was broke, they look fine, not broken. busted out the Chilton's manual and there's nothing about the auto shifter in there that I could see. Searched JBO for anything weird about a loose shifter...I guess it's time to throw in the wrench and call up my mechanic and hope for the best....any suggestions before I do? Ideas? Am I overlooking some simple obvious stuff possibly? Anyone else ever have this prob? Any help would be most appreciated.
Nice.....rainout...it won't last...this is Texas....I'll be sweating like a dog after this shower passes............
(note to self search ebay, jc whitney...toys r us...wherever...for a newer/better shift knob...perferably NOT PLASTIC).
The rains letting up...guess I'm going back in....I was just eyeballing the first step into changing this car over from factory plastic crapola:
step 1...new air intake
New Air Intake? Any Good?
I think the seller means MAP sensor BTW
never had any probs with my shifter before but i've heard of those cables breaking, the intake you posted about looks fine, same thing as all the others out there and a good price......wish i could help with the broken shifter, search around on here and google for how to fix it,i can't imagine it'd b that big of a project......................................on a side note,do you talk to yourself out loud like this or is it just an internet thing?lol j/k
