So a short run down...about three years ago I was driving home from work..came off the interstate and lost 3 &4 (this is a 4 speed auto) fluid was fine, tried replacing the sensor on top (can't remember @!#$ tonight maybe it is the range switch) regardless we got nothing. had a buddy plug hp tuners into and get got nothing out of 3 &4th as well. so @!#$ it car had engine troubles and 200k miles so i replaced the trans and engine...

fast forward to now...now the car has been in pieces for years and not really driven..more like around the block never over like 20 mph. I go to take it out today and sure enough.....no 3rd or 4th gear...

any ideas here. already gave up on the car once and decided to make it a beater....but a beater without gears is pretty useless.

I'd be inspecting the wiring harness... Maybe the wires controlling 3 & 4 are damaged

I would assume to start with the plug and go from there. sounds like a pain in the ass.

yup it is... your right by checking the plug first... then look for places where the wire loom has been damaged
