check to make sure you are putting the slave in properly. are you sure you put the throw out bearing in right? did you try bleeding the clutch again.. when you start the car is it like your trying to crank it with the car in gear? it soounds like your catching the slave on some thing and when you stab the clutch it misses and keeps you from pushing it in. but an easy engagement allows for it to slide into place.

also explain how you bleed the clutch?

thank you it is the slave right where it goes into the tranny the pin that came out of it would not go back in .... so i tried a diff one and that does not help but when that fitting is fully in the slave and holding the clutch is fine i just cant keep a pin in there... do you know where i can get a pin exact for that by any chance??? i tried auto zone nothing even close... also the car will not turn at all... that is because the slave is not fully engaged...right??? thanks for your help

i am no guru in this matter.... and not familiar with the setup of the eco's tranny... (but i think they use the getrag similar to mine...)

anyway... when you turn the key, what happens? does the starter engage and TRY to turn, but the engine wont let it? like does it crank at all? does it make funny noises or grinding when you turn the key?

have you tried to start it both in gear and out of gear?

I had LOTS of problems with my slave cylinder when i did my clutch... i kept blowing out the slaves.... you would step on the clutch, it would feel ok at first... then felt like it hung up on something... and if you tried to push harder, it would break free of what ever was snagging it... and go down further... but the next time you stepped on the clutch it would go staright to the floor with no resistance. and then i would find all my clutch fluid in a puddle on the floor.

Turns out i had the wrong clutch for my tranny. it bolted up and everything... looked like it would work... but turns out it was just a hair shorter than my stock clutch. so the slave and throw out had to over-extend itself to push the shorter clutch. and the thing i was "catching" on was actually the slave seal... and by pushing further i was poping the seal out, and dumping my fluid.

I dont know if this is the same thing your seeing... it just sounded very similar.... I hear that the newer slaves have an extended throw... so maybe yours isnt havent the seal poping issues like mine did... but something still sounds slightly off...

If your retainer pin isnt going in something is not right.... disconnect the line and see if the pin will fit on the slave itself, without the line on it... if it does fit... then notice where it snaps on.... and then look and see if that lines up with the groove on the line... or see why they dont line up...

again, this is all talking as if they are the same or similar designs as my 02 getrag... I was told the eco slave and my slave are interchangable... so i would assume this should all apply to you too.

How are you keeping the line on the slave without the pin? did you just push it on and it stays for you? even under pressure?

the fact your not locked in place on that connection might have something to do with your other issues...

hey thanks for the help..... well the clutch was an oem fit so it better be right lol... well basically what i am doing to hold the line in is two cotter pins not made for it and some zip tie but its barley working i mean the pressure in that line is so strong it will force its way out and make the clutch real tough to engage not like hard to push but locks up because that fitting is not fully engaged in the slave... and yes the pin works without it in and lines up with everything but just wont go in... very frustrating....
