Not true, I just found a 2004 Grand Am 4T40E, I was oign to buy it and they said it will only work on a 04-05 J Body, I was like WTF??? WHY?

After calling and talking to a few Transmission shops, they informed me that the 04-05 4T40E tnasmissions have a completely different Vavle Body and harnesses. I then asked if I could just swap my Current Valve Body and harness to the New Transmission, They said at that point I would be dealing with re-building the trans itself.

Just make sure before you buy, there are ALOT of 4T40E transmissions out there, some fit 3100 V6 too, just make sure it is the right part number.

There are 4t40Es out there from 95-07 from 2.4s 2.2 eco and others.

The part number you need is: 400-04260, 4T40E, MN4, the part number for the 04-05 Cavaliers is: 400-04319
