Is the transmission noise common?
Friday, February 13, 2009 7:56 AM
Hi, there:
My car has an AW30-40 automatic tranmission. Recently, I found something suscipious with my transmission. Although everything works fine, after the car is driven for about 10 miles, I can hear a belch noise when the gear is shifted from 3rd gear to torque converter lock-up. Also, I can sometimes hear something like sucking liquid when the car is driving on the third gear. What can be the possible problems?

Thanks
Robert

you know this is a cavalier/ sunfire website right?

is the AW30-40 a GM transmission? Perhaps the equivalent of a 4T-series or 4L-series transmission?

Sorry, I didn't know this is a cavalier website. AW30-40 is a Toyota transmission. I should have go to their forum then.
