6 speed Transmission

Anyone know of any 6 speed transmission that will fit with the ecotec?

Is it possible that if it does bolt up that it will work correctly? I figure a load of reprogramming will have to be done, but then again I dont really know.

Simple answers will suffice.

Yes, the F40(i believe) from a 03+ Saab 9-3.

If you get the tranny from the 03+ Saab 9-3 with the LNF, they will bolt to a L61(all ecotec bell houseing bolt patterns are the same).

No one has documented this swap and no one sees it to be worth it. The F40 is a larger transmission than the F23, so it might not even fit in a J.

Yea, i know its me again, but i have done some digging into this swap.

I dont know I figured the gear ratios would have to be messed with, like I said well actually I didnt, I just thought of this like 4 seconds before i posted it lol.

Tinkles, we are both trying to essentially do the same things to our cars, it would be better if we could work together on this instead of back and forth bickering, which I am more than willing to do, you just have to agree to stop this bs with me.

Oh and I have 13 posts remanining this month, so ill have to stretch them lol.

Youre a noob tinkles, go take a class in respect 101, youll learn something.

Like i dont read other threads.

I'll give ya advice about what i know, but working together on our cars..... No, we're not nor will be friends.

The best option i see is getting a cheap eco-powered J and try the swap. That way not much is lost if the car gets too hacked up.
